Our History

Witness the Light Music is owned and operated by Hallé and Diana Barrantes. Hallé’s past monicker “Tha Witness” and Diana’s favourite Bible verse, Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord…” was how Witness the Light developed.

In 2007, Hallé and Diana dated and grew as a couple while sharing their talents in music. Hallé was involved with Hip Hop and Diana played the piano and led worship at her church. Together, they began creating music melodies on Garage Band and explored Hip Hop and worship style beats. Their piano instrumentals drew attention on SoundClick such that they reached the top of the genre and attracted artists looking for emotional and worship styled melodies. While both in school, they continued to build and create music through their long-distance relationship.

They married in 2010 and moved to Edmonton, where Hallé pursued a career in law-enforcement and Diana finished her studies at the University of Alberta. Music took a backseat for the next two years during their new and busy married life. Soon after, Hallé was encouraged by a local Christian musician to pursue recording and mixing after recording and mixing her EP. This project initiated a love in Hallé for production, recording and mixing and continued to self-educate himself in the craft.

In 2015, with the help of various brothers from their local church, Hallé and Diana were able to construct their home music studio. This small, yet intimate studio has offered many up-and-coming Christian artists a space to record their music and have it professionally mixed.
